GlyTerra is a new two-part anti-aging system formulated to combat wrinkles caused by eating too much sugar. And the brand was at New York Fashion Week, promoting the product to fashion editors – who were buzzing about a recent article in Elle magazine. GlyTerra contains Theraglycan-3, a topically applied anti-glycation compound. The system consists of a 2% day cream, packaged in a tube; and a 4% concentrated night cream in a jar. The brand says the press has touted its formulation as ‘the most significant breakthrough in skin care since the discovery of retinol.’ And there is research to back up claims. At the World Congress of Cosmetic Dermatology in Athens, Greece, research was presented that showed Theraglycan-3, significantly reduced the amount of AGE content in actual human skin. This represented the first time that a topically applied anti-glycation, “anti-aging” compound has been tested to reduce actual AGE content in human skin and make it appear measurably younger – 8-10 years younger. GlyTerra also contains functional “anti-aging” isolates. The product claims that clinical research shows it can visibly decrease age-related effects of “sugar damage,” block surface glycotoxin formation to help shield the skin from future damage; reduce the look of fine lines, deep wrinkles, and crow’s feet; and improve the appearance of age spots, loose, droopy, flaccid skin – and, make the skin look more radiant. The two-part system is packaged as a 45-day supply, which is shown.
